What is Dr. Avhad's background?

Dr. Ramdas Avhad comes from a highly respected family in Kopargaon, known both for education and service to society. His father, a renowned businessman and a deeply respected figure in the community, was an idol for many. He strongly believed in the power of education — not only for his own children but also for hardworking students from the town and surrounding villages, whom he supported with free education.

The Avhad family went on to nurture 12 doctors, creating a legacy of healing. Among them, Dr. Avhad was the youngest son. His elder brother pursued MBBS, and naturally, the family leaned toward an allopathic approach at a time when Ayurveda had little recognition or awareness. In fact, everyone expected Dr. Avhad to follow the same path.

But Dr. Avhad had a different vision for himself. Despite family advice to pursue allopathy, he chose to dedicate his life to pure Ayurveda and Panchakarma — a decision that was bold, unconventional, and against everyone’s will in those times. With this unshakable conviction, he trained under the legendary Vaidya Nanaji Joshi in Dhule, and returned to Kopargaon to begin his practice.

From a small one-room clinic, with courage, commitment, and complete faith in Ayurveda, he built a journey that is today an inspiration for thousands. Over the years, he has treated lakhs of patients, trained thousands of students across India, and brought Panchakarma into the mainstream with evidence, results, and compassion.
